At Monticello yesterday the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks boys’ soccer team (5-4) took on the Monticello Panthers (1-9) with the Golden Hawks looking to get back to a winning record on the season.

The game started out slow for both teams with a rain delay and no goals in the first half. In the second half, the Mid-Prairie offense caught fire with two goals from senior Jordan Ulin. Junior Nolan Faselt and Jarrett Truitt each had a goal to finish out the game, with Mid-Prairie getting the win over Monticello 4-0.

So far this season Ulin leads the team with seven goals, Truitt has three goals and Faselt has two goals.

Mid-Prairie will be home tomorrow for a four-team tournament at the Wellman Recreation Complex, hosting Washington (2-6), Fairfield (6-5) and Cedar Valley Christian (5-5).
