The annual Stamp Out Hunger food drive is being held in Washington tomorrow. The National Association of Letter Carriers conducts the event. Andy Miller, a letter carrier for 20 years, explains each year letter carriers pick up non-perishable items at mailboxes across the country.
Miller says locally about one ton of food is picked up annually, along with about $600 in monetary donations. All donations will go to the Church of God food pantry in Washington. Residents are asked to leave canned goods or toiletry items by mailboxes for pick up tomorrow, May 9th.
