With temperatures in the 70’s and a light wind, it was the perfect day for the Hawk Invitational at the Kalona Golf Club yesterday where the Mid-Prairie boys’ golf team and seven other teams participated. Mt. Vernon won the meet with a score of 305 and Mid-Prairie was the seventh team with a score of 401.

Freshman Michael Callahan led the Golden Hawks with a 45, 47 for a 92. Sophomore Seth Man had a steady day of two rounds with scores of 50, 47 for a 97, followed by freshman Collin Gingerich at 50, 51 for a 101.

The Golden Hawks won’t be back to competition until next Tuesday when they travel for a conference tournament at the Saddle Back Golf Course in Solon.
