Rehabilitation work on a downtown Washington building has earned state recognition. The Insurance on the Avenue-Ziegler Billiard Hall Apartment renovation done by Ann and Jim Williams won in the interior renovation category. The project was recognized at the annual Main Street Iowa Awards ceremony in Des Moines. The rehabilitated building is located on North Iowa Avenue, one block north of Central Park.

Also, Jean Wehr was recognized as Main Street Washington’s Volunteer of the Year.
