Only three home dates remain on the Washington Demon girls’ soccer team’s (2-6 overall; 1-3 Southeast) calendar, including today’s non-conference clash with the Oskaloosa Indians (5-3 overall).
The Demons earned their second win of the season, and first home victory on Thursday evening, defeating the Mediapolis Bullettes 3-2 in overtime. Washington’s spread around the scoring in the victory as Lauren Swan, Kristen Barber, and Kayla Schindler recorded goals in the Demons’ triumph. Schindler’s goal came nine minutes into overtime, propelling Washington to victory. It was her fourth goal scored this spring, leading the team.
The Indians enter today’s match with five victories in eight contests, and has received nearly a third of their scoring from a sophomore. Of the 32 goals scored by Oskaloosa, 10 have been recorded by Ashley Brockman. Senior Aleda Renter has chipped in seven goals.
