The Mid-Prairie boys track team hosted a track meet last night and had three athletes receive first place in their events.

Sophomore Levi Duwa received first place with a throw 157 feet and seven inches in the discus, which was a personal best by eight feet. Duwa also received second place in the shot put, an event for which he qualified for the Drake Relays.

Senior Colin Weber achieved first place in the 400 meter dash, with a time of 52.47 seconds. This is the second straight meet where Weber has received first place in the event.

Senior Jared Draper won the 3200 meter run with a time of 10 minutes 24 seconds.

Two freshmen also had solid performances in their events. Marshal Teets set a new personal record in the high jump at five feet and eight inches, which was good enough for third place. Peyton Miller in the 400 meter dash received a third place finish in the 400 with a time of 53.07 seconds.

The Golden Hawks will next host another track meet along with the Mid-prairie girls’ track team on Tuesday at 5 p.m.
