Days before the Drake Relays deadline, Washington senior hurdler Jacob Hennigan had his best performance to date. The Demon boys’ track team brought a group of athletes to contend at the Indian Relays at Wapello High School last night.

Hennigan record a career-best time of 15.01 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles last night, placing first for the Demons in the event. Prior to last night, Hennigan’s best run in the 110 meter hurdles was 15.22 seconds at the Falcon Relays last month.

Hennigan’s current time in the 110 meter hurdles is the 12th best in the state. To compete at the Drake Relays in the 110 meter hurdles, an athlete must be among the top 32 best in the state. The deadline to do so is Friday morning at midnight.

The Washington boys’ track team travel to Mount Pleasant on Thursday for the annual Panther Relays held at Maple Leaf Complex in Mount Pleasant.
