The Mid-Prairie girls’ and boys’ golf teams will have golf meets versus the Durant Wildcats today.

The girls’ are coming off of a strong showing against West Liberty and West Branch winning in their home triangular meet by three strokes.

Head coach Traci McArtor says it will be nice to have back to back home meets for his team, “Having another home meet will bode well for us, for the fact that we still know the course versus going somewhere new. Hopefully we will improve even more and improve by a few shots all across the board.”

The match to begin at 4 p.m. today at the Kalona Golf Club.

The boys are looking to improve as they go into this match up against Durant. Head coach Kelby Bender is looking for his young squad to continue to improve, “If we can come in a few strokes under 216, just keep trying to improve a little a bit each time. Our goal for the season is to try to get under that 200 mark. If we can chip away every time, get a little more confident and comfortable at the golf course and that is what we are looking to do this year.”

The match will start at 4 p.m in Durant.
