A long time girls’ basketball coach in the South Iowa Cedar League is walking away from the game. Keota Eagle girls’ basketball coach Jenny Hobbs is resigning from her because she is expecting a child in July and says she wouldn’t be able to fully commit her coaching duties like she has in past years.
Hobbs has been the varsity girls’ basketball coach at Keota for the past four seasons, amassing a 52-39 overall record during her tenure. Prior to Keota, she spent seven year as the head girls’ basketball coach of the Sigourney Savages, winning three straight SICL Conference titles.
Basketball wasn’t the only sport Hobbs coached at Keota. She was an assistant coach of Eagle volleyball this fall and was the varsity softball coach from 2011-2013.
Hobbs tells KCII she will continue teaching at Keota and helping coach the Keota junior-high track team.
