A sentencing hearing for Mid-Prairie’s former business manager is being held next month. Cindy Steege is charged with 2nd degree theft, a class D felony, in connection with over $8,000 in unauthorized charges made to a district credit card. Her sentencing hearing is set for April 16th. According to Washington County Attorney Shawn Showers, the defendant chose to have the pre-sentencing investigation conducted prior to her entering a guilty plea. He says the recommendation made after the investigation will either be incarceration, suspended sentence or deferred judgment.
