The Kalona City Council will discuss a change order for the sewer relining project at tonight’s meeting. Approximately 31,000 linear feet of the city’s sewer system south of Highway 22 is being relined.

At the council’s last meeting, the budget for fiscal year 2016 was discussed and approved. The biggest changes include a three cent increase to the property tax levy and a drop in property tax revenue. According to City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh, the state’s property tax reform led to a decline of $18,000 in tax revenue.

Tonight’s meeting begins at 7 p.m. at the community center.
