The champions of the Southeast Iowa Super Conference North division are the last team standing from the league in this year’s postseason tournament. The Lone Tree Lions (19-4 overall) met the Easton Valley Riverhawks in a Class 1A District 7 semifinal game played at Cedar Rapids Washington High School, with the Lions coming away with a 50-46 victory.

Senior guard Nick Viner scored a team-high 14 points, while sophomore guard Jovonte Squires added 13 points in the victory.

The win improves Lone Tree’s overall record to 19-4, and advances the Lions to the district final against Marquette Catholic (19-4 overall). The Mohawks advanced to the district final by beating the Lisbon Lions 72-54 on Tuesday evening, with the winner facing the district champion in the substate final on Saturday.

The Class 1A District 7 championship between Lone Tree and Marquette Catholic is slated for 7 p.m. Thursday at North Cedar High School.
