Last year’s postseason run for the Keota Eagles basketball team (12-9 overall) ended at Wells Fargo Arena in Des Moines. The Eagles road back to Des Moines starts in Sigourney tonight where they are paired up in the Twin Cedar Sabres (11-10 overall).
Keota is led in scoring by senior forward Nate Owen, who is averaging 19.8 points per game. Owen eclipsed 1000 points for his career in his final regular season game against Tri County Thornberg, scoring a game-high 30 points in a 96-49 victory.
Twin Cedars enters the postseason on a two game winning streak. The Sabres are led in scoring by Otis Roby, who is averaging 20 points per game. Roby also is the Sabres leader in rebounds per game (11.7), assists per game (3.1) and steals per game (1.9).
Tonight’s Class 1A District 10 boys’ basketball game between Keota and Twin Cedars is scheduled to tip off at 6:30 p.m. from Sigourney High School. Live play-by-play action begins with the pregame show at 6 p.m. on FM 106.1 and KCIIRadio.com.
