The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys’ basketball team played their final game of the season in their first round postseason season game against the Albia Blue Demons at Eddyville-Blakesburg last night. As you heard on AM 1380, FM 102.5 and on KCIIradio.com the Golden Hawks lost in the first round, 82-60.
Albia led throughout the entire basketball game and had a halftime lead of 51-28. Mid-Prairie kept that margin through ut the second half and tied a season-high in scoring with 60 points.
The Golden Hawks had a solid performance from junior Nolan Faselt, who had 15 points.
The Blue Demons had two players who scored more than 20 points. Senior Matt Baker finished the contest with 24 points, five of those shots coming from three-point range. Senior Nate Haveman recorded 23 points in the matchup.
The Golden Hawks end the season with a 1-21 record. They will lose six seniors for next year’s team including stater Colin Weber. The Golden Hawks will return Ryan Cortum, Nolan Faselt, Isiahan Powell, and Noah Altenhofen starters for the 2015-16 basketball season.
