The Mid-Prairie girls’ (9-4) and boys’ (1-12) basketball teams are heading to Iowa City tonight in a make up game as they take on the Regals.
The Mid-Prairie girls are currently on a five-game winning streak entering tonight’s competition. During this five-game stretch they are averaging 52 points per game and on defense are giving up just 39.6 points per game. They go against a Regals team that is currently 12-1 on the season and undefeated in conference play. Iowa City Regina are coming off a close victory to Durant who is also in the top of the conference standings 50-49. Iowa City Regina averages 53.2 points per game.
The Mid-Prairie boys’ basketball team is coming off of their first victory of the season and will take on Iowa City Regina who stands at 11-1. The Regals average 60.3 points per game. They have two players who average at least 18 points each game. Drew Cook 6-foot-5 senior averaging 21.9 points a game and Nathan Stenger a 6-foot-3 junior averages 18.6 points per game.
The competition will start with the girls’ game at 6 p.m. tonight at Iowa City Regina.
