It’s unlikely that the Kalona City Council will hire additional staff members to address the only blemish on the city’s audit report. The city council went through the results of their 2013-2014 audit at their meeting Monday.
Kalona City Administrator Ryan Schlabaugh says the results were positive, excluding one write-up they see on their audit report every year. The report cited segregation of duties in reference to the size of the staff.
Schlabaugh says they would need to hire three additional staff members to meet that requirement, and adds that he doesn’t believe that will happen.
