The Winfield- Mt.Union boys basketball team is going into break stumbling after having a strong start. After starting the season 5-1 overall the Wolves have lost their last two games going into winter break.
Winfield-Mt.Union has three players that are averaging double figures so far this season. Junior Garret Baker leads the team with 13.8 points , junior Zack Davis with 13, and junior Sam Jennings with 12.5 points per game. Bryce Robinson has also contributed averaging 7.3 points per game.
Head coach Brad Doerreing says they also need other players to contribute offensively, “We need some other contributions other than our top four. You’re not going to go very far because they are just going to shut those guys down and make someone else beat you. “The Wolves only have 49 points outside their top four leading scorers.
Winfield starts their second half of their season with three games on the road, with the first Saturday, January 3rd at New London .
