The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys and girls basketball teams couldn’t muster much offense Tuesday evening. The Golden Hawks traveled to West Branch for a River Valley Conference doubleheader with the Bears.
In the girls’ contest, Mid-Prairie struggled to score after the first quarter and fell 47-28 to West Branch. Mid-Praire scored 12 of their 28 points in the first eight minutes of the game. The Golden Hawks scored five points in the second quarter, four points in the third quarter, and seven points in the fourth quarter in the setback. Junior Alex Rath led Mid-Prairie with seven points and four rebounds, while senior Taylor Kurtz had six points in the setback. The loss drops the Golden Hawks to 2-2 on the season.
The Mid-Prairie Golden Hawk boys basketball team also fell to West Branch 63-34. The loss drops Mid-Prairie to 0-3 on the season.
The Golden Hawk girls’ and boys’ basketball teams return to the court Friday evening in a River Valley Conference double header with the West Liberty Comets.
