The Washington Demon girls’ basketball team found their shooting touch Monday evening. The Demons welcomed the Williamsburg Raiders to Washington High School for a non-conference girls matchup.
Washington made a season high 43 percent of their field goal attempts, including 53 percent of their three point attempts in a 52-32 victory over the Raiders.
Head coach Jay Zieglowsky says the girls sharing the basketball more attributed the team’s good shooting night. “You could have a good shot but if you make the extra pass you could have a great shot.” Zieglowsky said, “It was evident tonight that they were starting to realize that.”
Junior guard Amber Salow had a game high 16 points, doubling her point total on the season, Seniors Sydney Hoffman and Dylan Schlutter added nine points each for Washington in the victory.
The win improves Washington’s regular season record to 2-2. The Demons return to action Friday evening in their conference opener against the Fairfield Trojans at Fairfield High School. You can hear the game on FM 106.1 and KCIIradio.com with the Washington HyVee Pregame Show starting at 7:15 p.m.
