The Iowa Mennonite School girls’ basketball team is in search of their first victory of the season when they resume conference play this evening.IMS travels to Wayland tonight for a Southeast Iowa Super Conference game with the WACO Warriors. WACO comes into the contest 1-1 in early season conference play.
Only two games into the season and these two conference rivals already have faced a common opponent. IMS and WACO have competed against the Mediapolis Bullettes this season, and both teams came away with similar results. IMS hosted Mediapolis in their home opener and fell 86-42 in Hillcrest Union. WACO traveled to Mediapolis Tuesday and left town with an 83-19 setback.
A pair of seniors are leading IMS on the court this year. Riley Schmieder is averaging 13 points per game this season. Hannah Miller is averaging 10.5 points per game this season for the team. She had a team high nine points in IMS’s 31-23 setback Tuesday evening at Wapello.
