The Washington Demon girls basketball begins the 2014-15 regular season with multiple early challenges. The Iowa Girls High School Athletic Union released their preseason top 15 rankings this past week, and the Demons found out they start the season against two ranked opponents on the road.

Washington opens regular season play tomorrow evening at Eddyville Blakesburg. IGHSAU ranked the Rockets 12th in their Class 2A preseason poll.

The following Tuesday, the Demons travel to Tim Grady Gymnasium for a matchup with the Mid-Prairie Golden Hawks. IGHSAU ranked the Golden Hawks as the 13th best team in their Class 3A preseason poll.

The only other team on Washington’s regular season schedule ranked in the preseason poll is the Keokuk Chiefs. The Demons’ Southeast Conference rival comes into the year as IGHSAU’s 9th best team in Class 4A.
