The Sigourney Savage girls’ basketball team opens up their 2014-15 season against a conference opponent. The Savages begins the season away, at South Iowa Cedar Conference member B.M.G.
The Bears have bested the Savages recently, winning five straight games in the series. Last season, B.M.G won both matchups by an average of 21.5 points per game. The Savages were 12-12 during the 2013-14 season, the best season in Sigourney girls basketball since the 2009-10 season. (16-7).
Sigourney returns multi-talented athlete Jordan Carter for her senior season. Carter, an unanimous selection for first team all-conference in volleyball, averaged 11 points and 6.3 rebounds per game last basketball season.
Tip off of tonight’s varisty girls’ basketball game between the Sigourney Savages and the B.M.G Bears is set for 7:45 p.m. at B.M.G. Community Schools.
