Iowa is joining the National Rural Health Day this month. Governor Terry Branstad signed a proclamation designating Thursday, November 20th, as Rural Health Day. The day is a chance to showcase efforts of Iowa rural health and address challenges. Across the state there are 90 hospitals and 152 certified rural health clinics. While 90 percent of Iowa’s land is considered rural, nearly half of Iowans live in rural areas. For more information click here.
