Duck hunting is underway in southeast Iowa. The firearm season for all species of ducks, coots and mergansers reopened last week. It runs until December 11th.
Statewide, hunting of mourning doves, Eurasian collared doves, snipe and woodcock is allowed until next month. It’s open season for Canada geese and light geese in southern Iowa as well.
The Iowa Department of Natural Resources reminds hunters to report any banded waterfowl they harvest as it provides valuable information that helps sustain waterfowl populations and hunting for the future. For more information, click here.
