The leaf vacuum will begin picking up leaves across the City of Washington next week. The leaf vacuum will start in the northwest quadrant of the city on Monday, October 20th. J.J. Bell, Washington Maintenance and Construction Superintendent, announced the leaf vac will move in a counter-clockwise direction.

Bell reminds residents to place leaf piles in the terrace area between sidewalks and streets, or on seal coat streets place leaves on the side of the ditch. Leaves should not be placed in the street or the center of ditches, as it can create drainage problems or traffic hazards. The leaf vac will run through November 26th.
