The IMS volleyball team is coming of a 26-10 season, and will have a new head coach at the helm for 2014.
Shannon Miller has been named the new head coach, coming from Solon last year. As for the IMS team, they lose a lot of top seniors from last years team. Olivia Yutzy takes 414 kills with her, while Casey Perez takes 139 with her. IMS does bring back Hannah Miller with 114 kills to be the leading returner on the attacking side of the ball. Perhaps the biggest loss for IMS is Perez at the setter position, where she had 619 assists, and defensively had 278 digs, along with Yutzy who had 277 digs, and the IMS libero Kristin Davis also graduated and had 360 digs.
IMS has a few girls with some setting experience with Demi Brezina, and defensively Brezina and Hannah Miller both had over 180 digs last season.
They start things off on Aug. 28th at Fairfield for a quadrangular, and start conference play against L-M on Sept. 4th. IMS will have their first home match on Sept. 16th against WMU. They will play the conference tournament on Sept. 25 and 27th, and they will play at the Washington tournament Oct. 11th before wrapping up the season against Mediapolis on Oct. 14th.
