The Mid-Prairie volleyball team comes into the 2014 season loaded with seniors, and a lot of power.
The Golden Hawks went 6-24 last year, but bring back their two top attackers this year with Taylor Kurtz leading the way with 161 kills, and Ashley Miller second with 138 kills. Mid-Prairie will need to get them the ball though, and they graduated their top setter in Courtney Shalla who had 385 assists last year, but they do bring back Ashlin Stumpf who had 43 assists.
Defensively, the Golden Hawks being back Ashley Sojka who had 204 digs last year, but do lose the 214 digs of Courtney Cayton.
Mid-Prairie kicks off the season next Monday at a tournament in Keota, and play their first conference games in the first week of September against L-M and West Liberty. The Golden Hawks play Washington on September 18th, play Regina on October 10th and play the conference tournament on October 16th.
