A few local Relay for Life events are coming up later this month. Keokuk County’s American Cancer Society fundraiser will be held in Sigourney Friday, August 15th from 7 until 10pm.
Washington County’s Relay for Life is scheduled for the weekend after. Cities in the county including Kalona, Wellman and Brighton will help promote relay by putting up yard signs and hanging purple ribbons. Relay for Life Specialist, Ed Rustioni, says city councils in those towns have agreed to Paint the County Purple the week before the event on Saturday, August 23rd.
