A Wapello County man’s third trial for a murder dating back to 2012 has begun. Seth Andrew Techel is currently being tried for the murder of his pregnant wife, Lisa Techel, at their residence in Agency.
He’s charged with first degree murder and nonconsensual termination of a pregnancy. The trial at the Scott County Courthouse follows two mistrials, both times caused by hung juries.
According to Scott County Court Administrator, Kathy Gaylord, jury selection began Monday, and the prosecution began presenting evidence yesterday. The trial is expected to take two to three weeks.
