The Kalona City Council will consider the bid they received for one of their capital projects tonight. The bid of $105,000 was the only one submitted for the maintenance building project. It will involve renovating existing rooms and putting on an addition. If accepted tonight, work could begin next month. Another item up for discussion is the damage semis are causing to downtown businesses. According to City Clerk Karen Christner, semis are driving down the narrow alleys and hitting buildings when they turn out of them.
