The Columbus soccer team knocked off IMS for the second time in two weeks on Thursday night, taking the match by a score of 3-1. The Wildcats drew first blood on a corner kick chance in the 5th minute to make it 1-0. IMS answered with a goal in the 24th minute when Spencer Schrock dialed long distance drilling a liner from 30 yards out past the keeper to tie the score at one. Columbus answered the bell with a goal late in the half to take an advantage to the break.

IMS made some defensive adjustments at the half and the back line responded to the challenge not allowing any Columbus offense for the first 38 minutes of half number two. As IMS pushed forward aggressively looking for the equalizer the Wildcats capitalized with a counter attack and put the game out of reach with a third and final goal. With the win Columbus is now 7-3 on the year. IMS falls to 6-6. Columbus has a week off before the SEISC tournament begins, IMS travels to #3 Danville for a make up game on Monday.
