Iowa’s Governor’s Traffic Safety Bureau is reminding motorists that speeding while driving is not only problematic during cold weather months but throughout the year. The Bureau has announced that it will be teaming up with local law enforcement officers St. Patrick’s Day weekend as part of the 2014 sTEP program. Officers will be looking for those who are speeding or operating while intoxicated and those who aren’t buckled up.
Last year’s St. Patrick’s Day holiday had 352 OWIs reported and over 5,000 speeding tickets.
