A man who was shipping methamphetamine to Washington County for distribution has been sentenced to 168 months imprisonment. Cesar Alexis Gonzalez, 29-years-old of Yuma, Arizona, was sentenced in Iowa for conspiracy to distribute at least 500 grams of a mixture or substance containing methamphetamine and 50 grams of actual methamphetamine. From November 2011 to April 2012, Gonzalez agreed with co-defendant Tony Young to distribute meth for profit. Gonzalez shipped ice or crystal meth from Yuma to Washington County in exchange for money. On March 22, 2012, law enforcement in Iowa intercepted a parcel sent by Gonzalez which contained approximately 200 grams of ice meth.

Young, Kurt Brookhart and Nahida Buchheit distributed the meth. Young was sentenced to 135 months, Brookhart 110 months and Buchheit 68 months.

The case was investigated by the Washington-Louisa County Drug Task Force, the Iowa Department of Public Safety – Division of Narcotics Enforcement and the City of Yuma Police Department.
