The Winfield- Mt. union basketball teams swept WACO last night in conference play.

WMU won the girls game first, despite a low scoring second half. The Wolves got out to a 21-12 lead at the half, and would only score 16 in the second half to win 37-25.

WMU was led by Logan Hartsock with 10 points and Emily Mathews with seven, while WACO was led by Ericka Leichty with six points.

The boys game went down to the wire and then some. WMU was down three with a minute left to play in the game, but they made the shot they needed to force overtime. WMU took over in OT and got the 57-48 win.

WMU got 17 points from Max Fricke and 10 from Jake Edwards, while WACO’s Dylan Carlson led WACO with a game high 22 points.

WACO plays IMS next on Tuesday, while WMU will Louisa Muscatine on Tuesday.
