Wellman Sons of the American Legion is raising money to map out veterans burial sites at local cemeteries, making it easy for loved ones to locate them. Commander of the organization, Ron Fanatia, says they’re GIS surveying and mapping area cemeteries, and will eventually place a map that identifies veterans at each one. They also plan to put flags near the burial sites on Memorial Day.

They’ve raised the money needed to map out the Pilotburg, Wellman and Wassonville cemeteries. Fanatia adds they’ll do the Lexington and Sharon Hill cemeteries, and two others near Richmond, once funding is available.
