The Washington County Board of Supervisors is considering supporting the proposal to rename part of Highway 78. Nancy Adrian with the Brighton Chamber was one of three to present the proposal to the supervisors, she said that the project will not cost the county anything. She explained that the project would rename the highway “J.N. Ding Darling Memorial Highway” as it passes through Washington County and others from Highway 218 to 149. The new name would be marked in cities along the road. Adrian said the group plans to apply for grants for signs.
The supervisors tabled the item, which will be placed on Tuesday’s agenda.
