The Winfield- Mt. Union basketball teams when in and got another team sweep last night over WACO.
The Lady Wolves took a 50-22 win over WACO, holding the Warriors to just two points through two minutes into the second quarter before they scored again.
WMU led 24-9 at the half, and let up on the defense in the second half to put up 26 points to make the final 50-22 score.
The Warriors were led by Halle Kissell and Gaby Wagler both with six points on the night, while WMU was led by Shelby Therme with 22 points. Following Therme was Emily Mathews with 11 points and Taylor Hartsock with 10 points on the night.
The WMU girl’s stay undefeated on the season and move to 4-0.
In the boy’s game, WMU ran away with the game in the second half, after a close first half score.
WMU led 12-7 after the first quarter, but down the stretch in the second quarter WACO made some buckets quick, and grabbed the lead at halftime 26-25.
The lead stuck for three minutes into the third quarter, before WMU took back over and kept it on their way to the 65-58 win over WACO.
WACO got 21 points from Dylan Carlson and 12 points from Parker Ferguson. While WMU had their own 21 points scorer in Max Fricke, behind him was Garret Baker with 15 points on the night.
WMU moves to 2-0 on the season while WACO falls to 0-2 this season.
