The Highland huskies girl’s team got the win last night in conference play over Columbus in a low scoring game.
The Huskies led the whole way, shutting out the Wildcats in the second quarter.
In the first the Huskies led 10-6, and took their lead 20-6 into halftime. In the third quarter Columbus Junction made no ground up with both teams scoring eight, making it 28-14 and then an 11-8 score in the fourth led to the 39-22 win.
Highland was led by Cheyann Adamson with 14 points on the night, while Samantha Dutton was close behind with 12.
Highland head coach Jodi Fink said his team still missed too many easy ones, but that the communication was much better.
Highland moves to 3-1 overall and 2-1 in the conference and will play L-M on Tuesday, while Columbus falls to 0-3 in the conference and 1-3 overall. The Wildcats play Pekin on Tuesday.
