The regional volleyball playoffs start tonight, and for two teams it will be a school rivalry match take two.

Sigourney and Keota got paired in the same district, and play each other in round number one tonight.

The last time these two teams played it went to five sets, with Sigourney getting the best of the Eagles.

The Savages are led in kills by Jordan Carter with 298 on the season, while Sydney Davis has 464 assists, and Becca Ohland has 356 digs to lead the team.

Head coach Chris Carter talked about how her team prepared for this game against Keota.

“Our goal is just to come out in set one and play our game, when we played them a couple of weeks ago we won the first game, but then fell apart in sets two and three, I guess we have the confidence going into the match since we won in five,” said Carter, “we’re just excited to play at home, we’re excited to play against a team that we are familiar with, and so our goal is to just go in and play our style of volleyball in game one and hopefully that will get the job done for us.”

The Eagles are led by Madison Sheetz who has 225 kills, followed by Kelsi Sieren with 196, their setter is Abby Schulte with 448 assists on the year, and everyone has multiple digs to keep the ball alive.

Keota head coach Dan Stout said his girls know it’s districts and that they are playing a school rival.

“[I] didn’t have to do too much to get the girl’s excited, they were focused last night in practice and ready to play, we watched a little game film from what we did last night and hopefully we worked on some things that will help us be successful, but you know, we go play in the districts and you don’t have to get too excited, because this is what you work for all season, and it just added to it by playing Sigourney, there is going to be a huge crowd there hopefully and it is going to be a lot of fun,” Stout said.

Keota and Sigourney play tonight at Sigourney with first serve at 7.
