Van Buren got the win over WACO Friday night 26-8.
In a game where the first quarter had no scoring by any team, it slowly started rolling Van Buren’s way as they got the first score of the game and the only score of the first half by a one yard run from Sam Dickinson and converted on the two points.
In the second half, Van Buren scored again making the score 14-0 on a four yard run by Josh Smith. WACO wasn’t out of it yet though, coming back late in the fourth quarter to get their own touchdown off a two yard run by Bryce Achen and a converted two points, but Van Buren put two more scores up in the last 2:19 of the game by Smith and Vaughn Helling to put the game out of reach and make the final 26-8 score.
WACO was led by Janecek’s 178 yards, but the big number in this one was four turnovers for WACO in the game.
The Warriors fall to 1-3 and host Danville next week.
