A tree insect first detected in Iowa three years ago, has made another appearance, this time in our part of the state. The Emerald Ash Borer, known for its ash tree killing larvae, was identified in Burlington this month. Iowa Department of Natural Resources District 6 Forester Ray Lehn says it’s considered the most destructive bug of its type in the United States. He adds its possible the insect is already in Washington County.
