A fiery wreck involving three vehicles occurred in Iowa County yesterday afternoon at approximately 3:05 p.m. according to the Iowa State Patrol.  A semi operated by 51-year-old Randy Weeden of Monticello, Wisconsin, and a Kia Optima driven by 47-year-old Karen Lorenzen of Polk City were stopped in the west bound lanes of I-80 near the 205 mile marker due to slowed traffic from a previous crash when a third vehicle struck them.

A Doon trailer driven by 55-year-old Jerry Sturdevant of Eagleville, Missouri, struck the semi and car, causing the Weeden and Sturdevant vehicles to catch fire.

Sturdevant was transported by Brooklyn EMS to Grinnell Hospital and Lorenzen was transported by Iowa County EMS to Marengo Hospital.
