The first steps toward roadwork on US 61 in Louisa County will begin soon. According to Jason Huddle, with the Department of Transportation, they’ll begin purchasing property from owners along the highway, from south of Iowa 92 to Muscatine County, this year. He says the real work will begin in the fall of 2014, and completed in 2017.
