The Demon baseball team plays their final game of the regular season tonight, and it will also be senior night for the Demons.

Washington will be honoring four seniors, including Ezra Graber, Austin Witt, Jack Dickinson and Kyle Roder.

This game between the Demons and Clear Creek Amana will be the final one before the district tournament starts on Friday.

Washington is 12-16 this year and hitting .243. They are led at the plate by Jacob Green and his .313 average and 20 RBI’s, with Walker Breard close behind with a .297 average and 17 RBI’s, including five homeruns. The Demons also get back Jack Dickinson who has been injured since game 10.

Pitching wise with Dickinson back, he will probably get the nod to get a game in before the playoffs. Before he was injured he was 0-2 with a 1.97 ERA in 10 2/3 innings.

The Clippers are 10-20 this year and hitting .285 as a team, they are led at the plate by Cody Wagner with a .373 average and nine RBI’s, and he is followed by A.J. Liddell with a .337 average and 17 RBI’s. On the mound for CCA, they are led by Liddell with a 3-4 record, 2.77 ERA and 21 K’s.

Demon head coach Nathan Miller said tonight will be a special time for the seniors, especially if they can get a win on the final game at home.

“We’re looking forward to putting a cap on this season, and hopefully cap it in a positive way, if we play to our potential, we play like we did on Thursday [against Keokuk], I think there is no reason why we couldn’t walk away with sending the seniors out on the home field with a win,” Miller said.

Demons and CCA play tonight at Washington, with JV starting at 5:30, and varsity to follow.
