Last night at 10:03 p.m., shortly after the city fireworks, a car accident involving a car and motorcycle was reported in the 600 block of West Madison Street in Washington. Twenty-three-year-old Lewis Alan Jones of Washington was arrested for operating while intoxicated – first offense. According to the sheriff’s office, it was reported that one person had sustained an arm injury and another had back pain; there was no ambulance transport.

Washington Fire Department, Washington Police Department and Washington County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene.
