The wet spring led to almost a quarter of this year’s races in Columbus Junction to be cancelled. Race Director at CJ Speedway Kurt Burmeister says four scheduled races were rained out. He adds while the Iowa River was flooding last month, water never reached the track, but there was seepage from the levee.

He shares the efforts to prevent flooding and property damage this spring brought the community together.
