The Washington Middle School has a new banner to hang – it has received national recognition for its Project Lead the Way and Gateway to Technology program from Project Lead the Way. Principal Curt Mayer says they did the assessment to see if the program was meeting the national standards. Also, he says it showed that they can improve by better educating counselors on the programs and it showed strengths in the skilled teachers and community support. These programs give a basis for engineering and the high school level Pathway to Engineering courses.
