The annual law enforcement contracts for Washington County cities was approved at the Supervisors’ meeting Tuesday. The contracts are based on a formula which includes the number of calls and population. For the seven cities participating, the total cost is just over $208,000. Ainsworth saw the biggest increase in cost from $5,500 last year to $14,000 this coming year. Riverside also saw an increase in cost of about $7,500 and Kalona’s cost increased slightly, by $400. Brighton, Crawfordsville, Wellman and West Chester had a lower cost than last year.
