A flood warning was issued last night for the North Skunk River near Sigourney until Friday morning. At 8:30 p.m. Tuesday the stage was at 5.2 feet and steady, while flood stage is 16 feet – minor flooding is forecast. Currently, a flood warning is in effect until Friday morning for the English River at Kalona.  At 11 a.m. today the stage was 7.1 feet and rising, flood stage is 14 feet – minor flooding is forecast. It is expected to rise above flood stage tomorrow to 15.6 feet and fall below flood stage Friday morning.

As of 6 a.m. this morning, Washington had received 1.68 inches of rain in the previous 24 hours, 1.4 inches of that fell between 3 a.m. and 6 a.m.
