Farmers may be waiting until tomorrow to plant corn, when they’ll be fully covered for a replant. Plant diseases, insects, and flooding are just some of the factors that lead farmers to replant. Don Vittetoe, owner of Vittetoe Insurance, says most policies cover farmers if they plant after April 11th. He says replanting was more common in 2012, when compared to past years, due to poor weather in early May. The date when replant coverage kicks in for soybeans is April 21st.
